Puppies are all dewormed every two weeks, at ages 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks old.
We follow Dr Jean Dodds minimal vaccination protocol, and give the first vaccination at 8-9 weeks old.
All Jenvy puppies come with AKC registration and AKC Reunite Microchip. Both are required to be completed by the new owner and can easily be registered online. The AKC Registration will require an AKC "registered name" which is the name the puppy will have on their papers, not what you will call them everyday. This name must begin with our kennel prefix, "Jenvy," and the rest can be a name of your choosing, unless there is a theme for your puppy's litter that it must abide by.
Puppies are introduced to crates while with us, to help them transition to crate training in their new homes. We encourage crate training in their new homes to provide puppies with a safe place to rest in, as well as confinement when left alone to keep them from getting into trouble. A crate should be a safe haven and not a tool used to punish a puppy. When introduced properly, puppies grow up to love and enjoy their crate.
A wire or plastic style crate that is 30" to 36" in length is ideal for an adult Brittany. Many wire crates come with a divider you can use with your puppy to limit the amount of space the pup has access to, and can grow with them as they grow.
Our puppies are weaned on Inukshuk 26/16. Each puppy will be sent home with a few days worth of food for the new home to transition gradually to the food of their choosing. We encourage avoiding Grain Free food as it has been shown to cause Dilated Cardiomyopathy, a serious heart issue that can be fatal.
We use and recommend Gun Dog Supply Collars, which come with a free nameplate. We like the 3/4" width for Brittanys.
