This is truly a breeding that has been planned years in advance and eagerly awaited. From the time I saw Winston, I just knew I wanted to bring him into my breeding program. He is stunning, and he has the details that I look for and love in a Brittany, plus the type, huge clean side gait, and enthusiastic temperament. His pedigree isn't too shabby either - he is sired by the infamous Ollie, CH Jordean All Kiddin' Aside who is a multiple Best in Show and Multiple National winner. And Winston's dam is the amazing Maggie, GCHP Brigadier's Lightning Strikes Twice, who is a Best in Show winner, Breed and Group 4 at Westminster, and a top winning bitch. I adored Maggie while she was being campaigned, and am thrilled to have the opportunity to breed to her son, who reminds me so much of her! Winston's littermate brother, Merit, GCHP Brigadier Shamrocks All Silver Stars, is also absolutely amazing, having just won the 2023 Brittany National, a Best in Show winner, as well as Best of Breed and a Group 2 at Westminster! He followed in his parents pawprints a bit!
Winston finished his show championship quick and easy at 7 months old, winning Best of Breed over specials! And then he went into the field, where he earned his Senior Hunter easily. He has excellent drive and a nice shooting dog range. He is also biddable and a natural retriever (a trait which I want to keep!). In between field training, he also hit the show ring again and finished his Grand Championship, along with an Owner Handler group placement! At the 2023 Brittany National, I was honored to get to show Winston in Best of Breed. While we weren't the judges pick, Winston showed beautifully and his HUGE side gait made me realize I'm going to have to learn to take big strides to keep up with him!
I can't thank Winston's breeder and owner Beth Rosener for introducing me to Winston, and allowing him to spend some time in Texas with us!
Ivy is my first homebred bred by and my sassy little one. She is always making me laugh whether its bringing me random items around the house to see my reaction, sitting her butt on a cushion (never the floor!) or just being Ivy, shes a character. She finished in two weekends of shows, was rocking it in field training, and then March 31, 2023, she got kicked by a horse at the field trainers, and broke her femur. She had a really tough recovery, but we soon learned it was because the original surgeon incorrectly aligned the femur and pin, and in the 8 weeks she was suppose to be "healing," she was NOT. Unfortunately she needed a revision surgery, but fortunately, we were able to get into Dr Whitney at Gulf Coast Specialists. He did an amazing job, basically completely re-doing the first surgery and doing it correctly this time! The recovery after this revision compared to her first surgery was like night and day. She was literally walking on her leg within 24 hours of coming home, vs the first surgery where it took 6 weeks for her to even toe touch! It was insane. To make a long story short, she recovered beautifully and is back running, hunting and doing all her Ivy things, good as new! We are continuing her field training with the goal of field trials and Master Hunt tests, because she is too good of a natural field dog not to. We have big goals for this little dog, but she has what it takes! I just adore her, and can't wait to see what the future holds for this special little girl.
